The Myles Garrett Trade is Heating Up: New Favorite Team Emerges in Trade Talks

Posted on March 5, 2025 by ADMIN

Earlier this offseason, Cleveland Browns defensive end Myles Garrett publicly requested a trade away from the franchise that selected him with the No. 1 overall pick back in 2017.

Garrett’s individual production has been superb, but the Browns have struggled to record any kind of meaningful success over his eight-year NFL career so far.

“As a kid dreaming of the NFL, all I focused on was the ultimate goal of winning a Super Bowl — and that goal fuels me today more than ever,” Garrett wrote. “My love for the community of Northeast Ohio and the incredible fanbase of the Cleveland Browns has made this one of the toughest decisions of my life. These past eight years have shaped me into the man that I am today.

“While I’ve loved calling this city my home, my desire to win and compete on the biggest stages won’t allow me to be complacent. The goal was never to go from Cleveland to Canton, it has always been to compete for and win a Super Bowl.

“With that in mind, I have requested to be traded from the Cleveland Browns.”

Soon after Garrett publicly requested a trade away from the Browns, one team emerged as the clear betting odds favorite to land the 2023 NFL Defensive Player of the Year.

Back in February, DraftKings posted Garrett to the Washington Commanders at plus-300, leading the Philadelphia Eagles (plus-450), Cleveland Browns (plus-500), Buffalo Bills (plus-550) and Detroit Lions (plus-650).

Now a few weeks later, a new team has emerged as the favorite to roster Garrett in 2025: the Cleveland Browns.

Last week, Browns general manager Andrew Berry said the team has no plans to honor Garrett’s trade request. Cleveland now holds the best betting odds to retain Garrett at plus-170.

Here are the full betting odds, as of March 3:

  • Browns: +170
  • Eagles: +220
  • Commanders: +300
  • Lions: +1200
  • Bills: +1200
  • Bears: +1400

Garrett, 29, just earned his fourth career All-Pro selection. Through 17 regular-season games in 2024, the six-time Pro Bowler recorded 14.0 sacks, three forced fumbles, 28 QB hits and a league-leading 22 tackles for loss.
