Podróż Świątek na igrzyskach olimpijskich nie zakończyła się zdobyciem złotego medalu, ale jej odporność i determinacja przebijają się na pierwszy plan.

World No. 1 Iga Świątek has always been candid about her emotions, and her recent experience at the 2024 Paris Olympics was no different. After a heartbreaking loss in the semifinals to China’s Qinwen Zheng, the Polish star opened up about the emotional toll it took on her.

The 23-year-old tennis sensation admitted that the defeat hit her hard, causing her to cry for six hours. “It was really tough. Sometimes it feels like it’s just sport and tennis, and usually, I can keep it in perspective. But this time, it was like somebody really broke my heart,” Świątek confessed.

Despite her impressive track record and the high expectations that come with being the best player in the world, Świątek revealed that this loss taught her a valuable lesson in humility. She acknowledged that her recent successes had made her somewhat arrogant, believing she could handle everything. However, the defeat by Zheng served as a wake-up call, motivating her to work harder and improve her game.

Reflecting on the experience, Świątek expressed gratitude for the support she received from fans and vowed to come back stronger. She emphasized that every setback is a learning opportunity, helping her grow as an athlete and a person. “I know what I need to work on, and I’m committed to getting better every day,” she said.

Świątek’s journey at the Olympics was not ended with the gold medal she dreamed of, but her resilience and determination shine through. As she continues to strive for excellence, her fans remain steadfast in their support, eager to see her reach new heights in her career.
