Panthers Part Ways with Miles Sanders: Star Running Back Released by Carolina

Posted on March 12, 2025 by ADMIN

According to ESPN NFL Insider Adam Schefter, the Carolina Panthers released veteran Running Back Miles Sanders on Tuesday. This move allows him to be a free agent this offseason and negotiate with 31 other teams for his services.

He had the worst season of his career with the Carolina Panthers in 2024. His numbers were so low because he was used as a third-string back behind Chuba Hubbard and Jonathon Brooks. Sanders finished with 205 rushing yards and 2 rushing touchdowns last season. He had the best game of his year in Week 18 against the Atlanta Falcons when he got a majority of the carries. Sanders finished with 17 carries for 66 yards and a touchdown on the ground. Where will the veteran running back play next season?

Miles Sanders’ Landing Spots

The veteran running back came to the Carolina Panthers following the best season of his career in 2022 with the Philadelphia Eagles. Unfortunately, he was never able to find his footing with the Panthers. Sanders should have a respectable market this offseason. There are always teams looking for veteran players on team-friendly deals in free agency.

A few teams that would be a good fit for the running back are the Buffalo Bills and the Miami Dolphins. Even though Buffalo had a strong rushing attack last season, Sanders would be a strong backup for Running Back James Cook. He would also be a great fit with the Dolphins. He would be a great complementary piece for De’Von Achane. Head Coach Mike McDaniel has also proven throughout his coaching career he could make virtually any running back a star. A veteran on a cheap contract would fit that bill.

Final Thoughts

Sanders will look to revitalize his career after a rough two-year stint with the Carolina Panthers. He has proven he could be a productive player in the league and needs a team to take a chance on him this offseason.
