Breaking: The Saints Trade Two Veteran Players during to Help Kellen Moore Create His own Offense Due to….

Draft day trades are always riveting. For the New Orleans Saints, it is tough to project any major trades involving big-name players of their own. That being said, a couple of notable names stood out to me for them as potential trade pieces.

Two players the Saints could trade during 2025 NFL Draft

Moving on from Kendre Miller

The running back position is one that could get a bit of a makeover under Moore. Alvin Kamara will be the starter, and there’s little reason to question that. That being said, what does the RB position look like behind him next year and beyond?

Kendre Miller has been an experiment that’s fallen short. The former TCU Horned Frog was a third-round pick in 2023, but he has struggled with injuries during his pro career. For the Saints, he has not been nearly available enough to be the main backup for Kamara next season.

Miller is still on his rookie deal, so the price tag for him would not be high for a team trading for the young running back. On the flip-side, New Orleans probably wouldn’t get anything more than a late day three pick. In reality, they may only be able to flip day three selections to move up some in this year’s draft in a trade involving Miller.

I expect the Saints to draft a running back sometime during this draft, whether Miller stays in the fold or not.

Trading Foster Moreau

2025 is the final year on Moreau’s deal. The Saints have shown some interest in this year’s tight end class, pointing to a potential interest in adding one fairly early on. If they chose that route, Moreau becomes even more expendable from their roster.

Keep in mind that they re-signed Juwan Johnson to a new three-year extension, and Jack Stoll was also added as depth. Taysom Hill is still on the roster, but he may miss the early part of the season because of his season-ending injury last year.

Regardless, Moreau would be a low-cost ($4.6M cap hit this year) for a team looking to get deeper at tight end. He is also a well-respected veteran in the locker room.
