BREAKING NEWS: Canucks Reportedly Expressing Strong Interest in Minnesota Wild’s Sensational Center to Bolster Squad Depth…

Canucks Reportedly Showing Strong Interest in Wild’s Marco Rossi

The Vancouver Canucks are reportedly expressing significant interest in Minnesota Wild center Marco Rossi, according to Michael Russo of The Athletic. During a recent appearance on Sportsnet 650, Russo shared that Vancouver has emerged as a team closely monitoring Rossi’s availability.

“I’m hearing from highly reliable sources that Vancouver is very keen on Marco,” Russo noted last Thursday. “Whether that leads to a trade or even an offer sheet, it’s uncertain at this point.”

A potential move for Rossi would make strategic sense for the Canucks. With the Wild seemingly open to parting ways with the 23-year-old forward—who just posted a 60-point season—Vancouver could offer a strong development path under the leadership of Elias Pettersson. This could provide Rossi with a better opportunity to solidify himself as a top-six center.

In return, the Canucks could put together an appealing package for Minnesota, potentially including their 15th overall pick in the upcoming 2025 NHL Draft or top-tier prospects like Jonathan Lekkerimaki. Interestingly, Lekkerimaki previously played alongside Minnesota’s Liam Ohgren in Sweden.

If Minnesota is committed to trading Rossi, Vancouver appears to be a realistic and logical landing spot.

Meanwhile, with Brock Nelson deciding to stay with the Colorado Avalanche instead of joining the Wild, Minnesota now has to reassess its roster strategy.

Additional Notes:

  • Marcus Johansson remains a valuable asset for Minnesota due to his consistent positioning and on-ice awareness.
  • The 2025 Stanley Cup Final is generating a lot of excitement and could be one of the most competitive in recent years.
