The NFL Draft is finally on the horizon, and the Chicago Bears will be one of the most interesting teams to watch in the first round.

With the 10th overall pick, the Bears don’t seem to be locked into anything. There are rumblings that they covet Boise State running back Ashton Jeanty, but unless they’re willing to trade up, it doesn’t seem as though he’ll still be on the board when their pick arrives.

Colston Loveland goes No. 10 to Bears

The general idea of increasing the offensive firepower around quarterback Caleb Williams is a promising one. But while running back is an easy position to upgrade, taking another wide receiver to pair with D.J. Moore and Rome Odunze is more risky.

One NFL writer, however, believes the risk is worth the potential reward.

On Thursday, Enzo Flojo of ClutchPoints predicted that the Bears would use the 10th pick on Arizona’s Tetairoa McMillan, a 6-foot-5 wideout who many see as the best pure receiver prospect in the entire draft class.

“Don’t be surprised if Chicago uses its 10th overall pick to add one of the most dynamic wide receivers in this class—Tetairoa McMillan out of Arizona. He isn’t just a red-zone threat—he’s a potential WR1 from day one,” Flojo wrote.

“McMillan would give Williams a reliable target who can stretch the field… Sure, Bears already boast a promising offensive core. However, McMillan’s arrival would shift them into one of the most balanced young units in the league.”

McMillan, 22, put up 1,319 yards and eight touchdowns in the Wildcats’ 12 games this season. He’d be a nice complement to Moore and Odunze as a true X receiver who can make things happen downfield and haul in some contested catches.

There’s an argument to be made that the Bears’ need at other positions is too great to go with another receiver. But there’s an equally strong argument that talent is talent, and Chicago should take the biggest star they can get their hands on.
