Baltimore Ravens: Mark Andrews Floated as Surprising Trade Bait

Baltimore Ravens star tight end Mark Andrews has been floated as a potential trade candidate, despite being one of the greatest players in franchise history. According to Fox Sports NFL reporter Ralph Vacchiano, Andrews could be sent elsewhere via a trade in this NFL offseason.

Andrews is undoubtedly a favorite target of quarterback Lamar Jackson when he’s healthy and playing well. However, he’s not the elite tight end he was four years ago. While he’s reliable, steady, and a good red-zone target, he’s also about to turn 30 and will be a free agent next year.

Trade Value

Andrews’ trade value might be higher now while he’s still under contract, albeit with a $16.9 million salary in the coming season. Last season, he recorded 673 receiving yards and 11 touchdowns on 55 catches. As a three-time Pro Bowler, Andrews is a valuable asset to any team.

Isaiah Likely: A Potential Replacement?

The Ravens might see more upside in 25-year-old tight end Isaiah Likely, who is also scheduled to be a free agent in March. The team may have to choose between committing an extension to either Andrews or Likely.

Conclusion

The Baltimore Ravens’ decision regarding Mark Andrews’ future will be crucial in determining their tight end corps for the upcoming season. While Andrews is still a productive player, the team may see more value in younger talent. The potential trade of Andrews would be a surprising move, but it’s clear that the Ravens are considering their options.
