Athletic will not take money from the piggy bank this season

Posted on September 27, 2024 by ISRAEL

The Assembly of Athletic Members already has a designated date, time and framework. Jon Uriarte has convened these associates on Tuesday, October 29, 2024 in the Auditorium of the Euskalduna Palace in Bilbao. The start of the meeting is one hour earlier than the previous ones, since it has been set for 6:00 p.m.

Regarding the closing of the 2023/24 financial year and the 2024/25 budget; Athletic, according to those responsible, presents a balanced proposal with “a volume of income exceeding 155 million euros and without the use of provisions for the first time since the 2019/20 season.”

The data provided by Ibaigane shows that the year corresponding to last season ended without losses and, as the club announced, “reducing its deficit by 7.3 million euros and generating income that has exceeded 134 million.” The club’s assets, on the other hand, remain above 105 million euros.

Guillermo Ruiz-Longarte, treasurer of the Uriarte board, explains on the Athletic website that “to know where we are going it is very important to know where we come from. In 21/22, Athletic was moving in an income environment close to 100 million euros, exactly 109, and we are going to present a budget for approval in the Assembly of 155 million.”

This manager considers that it is “a very important qualitative and quantitative leap in terms of the club structure” and adds that “Athletic lost 37 million in 21/22 and what we expect in 24/25, “If we meet the budget, the Club does not lose money.”
