Appeal also rejects the appeal for the yellow card for Jon Pacheco

Posted on September 26, 2024 by ISRAEL

This Thursday the Appeals Committee of the RFEF has rejected the appeal presented by Real Sociedad in relation to the yellow card he saw Jon Pacheco on September 14 in the duel against Real Madrid. Yellow card which, as the referee noted in his referee report, was “for recklessly knocking down an opponent in the dispute for the ball.” TO Rodrygospecifically. Four days later the Disciplinary Committee rejected the appeal of the San Sebastian club, the same thing that the second disciplinary body did today.

As argued in its brief and after studying the allegations of the appellant club and paying special attention to the analysis of the videographic evidence, the Appeal Committee “understands that the facts reported in the arbitration report are fully compatible with the sequence of events that is displayed in the images. In the case at hand, the videographic evidence does not allow us to clearly and unequivocally conclude that there was no contact, so it is not sufficient to refute the presumption of veracity enjoyed by the arbitration record in this case. ..In this case, the images are fully compatible with the version reflected in the record, since they agree with the existence of a knockdown resulting from contact between players. Consequently, this Appeal Committee must conclude that the content of the record has not been distorted. arbitration record nor has the existence of a manifest material error been proven in it, since what is reflected in said document is not implausible or manifestly impossible, and the story of the play made by the referee must prevail.

In this way he maintains the yellow card and now the San Sebastian club has the option of TAD as the last sporting avenue to try to have said card removed from the San Sebastian player. A yellow that does not imply a direct sanction but that the club is fighting because it is certain that there was no contact nor, of course, a foul.
